Chapter 7: Installation and environmental considerations – NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 7.9: 7.9 Fuel system

Tanks are sized for the class and installed and maintained to NFPA 30, 37, 54 and 58; the fuel system delivers clean fuel and tanks are sized so fuel is used within its storage life, or stale or contaminated fuel is remediated or replaced. Tanks are close enough for the engine fuel pump lift or use a transfer pump and day tank; piping is compatible metal (no galvanized), vents and fills keep water out, flexible approved fuel lines connect the engine, day tanks and returns are arranged to drain freely, integral tank volumes indoors or on roofs are limited, gas supplies tap ahead of the building's main shutoff and are labelled, manual fuel valves are the indicating type, and automatically actuated valves that could cut fuel at a critical time are not installed.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 3 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 5.6 Fuel stocks for standby generation maintained
  • 9.85-9.88 Fuel transfer, fire dump valves, leak containment and overfill protection
  • 2.3.4 2.3.4 Protection against fuel leakage

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
