Chapter 5: Emergency power supply: energy sources, converters and accessories – NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 5.6.4.6-5.6.4.7: 5.6.4.6 and 5.6.4.7 Automatic battery chargers

Besides any engine-driven charger, an automatic charger maintains the starting and control batteries. Without manual switching it must charge a fully discharged battery without damage, restore it to full ampere-hour capacity within 24 hours (Level 1) or 36 hours (Level 2), carry dc ammeter and voltmeter within 5 percent, be permanently marked with battery capacity range, output and battery data for replacements, match the batteries supplied and, at Level 1, compensate charge rate for temperature; low battery voltage alarm contacts are required.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 4 controls across 4 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 2.4.4 2.4.4 Starting batteries and battery charging
  • 9.76-9.80 Starting batteries and chargers kept fully charged and monitored

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
