NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 5: dairy food safety scheme (sections 50 to 67) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 63: Use NATA or Food Authority approved laboratories, and report a failed dairy result to the Food Authority by phone within 24 hours and in writing within 48 hours

What does 63 require?

Every section 62 analysis must be done in a laboratory approved by NATA or by the Food Authority for that test type. If a result fails the Manual standards (or standards set by notice), the licence holder must tell the Authority orally as soon as practicable and no later than 24 hours after learning of it, then in writing within 48 hours. The laboratory in charge must also notify the Authority within 24 hours of finishing any analysis that fails the Manual standards. Each limb carries 25 penalty units.
