NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 5: dairy food safety scheme (sections 50 to 67) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 54: Dairy primary producers comply with Standard 3.2.1 (food safety programs) and Standard 4.2.4 clauses 1 to 11, and clauses 17 to 30 when producing milk for raw milk cheese

What does 54 require?

For a dairy business that is primary food production the regulation applies the Food Standards Code food safety program standard and the primary production requirements of the dairy standard (Standard 4.2.4 clauses 1 to 11), so farms must run a documented program covering milking animals, feed, water, milking hygiene and on-farm milk storage. Farms supplying milk for raw milk cheese must also meet the raw milk cheese production clauses 17 to 30.
