NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 5: dairy food safety scheme (sections 50 to 67) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 56: Sell dairy products for human consumption only after processing to Standard 4.2.4 clauses 15 and 16, or for raw milk cheese after meeting clauses 31 to 35

What does 56 require?

No one may sell a dairy product for people, including at retail, unless it has been processed (pasteurised or treated) as Standard 4.2.4 clauses 15 and 16 require or, for raw milk cheese, the cheese clauses 31 to 35 have been met. The rule does not stop farm-to-processor sales of milk or cream, processor-to-processor sales, or goat's milk produced under a food safety program; unpasteurised goat's milk must carry the Standard 1.2.3 advisory statement.
