Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2) s76: s 76 Inform the consumer of the termination right before making the agreement

A dealer must not make an unsolicited consumer agreement unless, before it is made, the person has been told of the right to terminate within the termination period, how to exercise it, and the prohibition on supply or payment during the 10 business day cooling-off period in s 86 where that section applies (reg 83). Face to face, the information must be given in writing; by telephone it must be given by phone and later in writing. Written information must be attached to the agreement or agreement document, transparent, and the most prominent text in the document apart from the dealer's or supplier's name or logo (reg 84).
