Registration may be sought by anyone intending to run a major hazard facility, and the application must contain the information in Schedule 18, any identity evidence the Authority requires, and the date the facility is expected to start operating as a major hazard facility. A person intends to operate one if it plans to alter an existing facility so that Schedule 14 materials will exceed their threshold quantity, or plans to operate a facility where they will exceed threshold and has planning approval or the facility has been determined under r 6A. Designers of buildings or structures should note their duties under s 28 of the Act.
