Following a new installation, or each scheduled inspection, testing and maintenance visit, the inspector fills in an ITM tag completely to record that the work followed the adopted standards and fixes it to every system riser, adding the appropriate yellow or red tag where impairments are found. A new ITM tag goes on for every ITM visit; tags stay for five years, after which only an authorised employee of a registered firm may take them off (regulators may clear excess tags whenever they choose). ITM tags are light blue, 5-1/4 by 2-5/8 inches, may be printed for several years, and carry the do-not-remove inscription, the punched ITM type (initial installation, monthly, quarterly, annual, third year or fifth year), the punched status after ITM (acceptable, yellow tag attached or red tag attached), the inspector's licence number, name and signature, the punched date, the firm's name, address, telephone number and registration number, the owner's or occupant's name and address, the building or system identifier, and the static and flowing pressures of the main drain test taken at the visit.
