Subchapter G: fire sprinkler rules (34.701 to 34.725) – Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G)

Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G) 34.719: White service tags on each riser after every service, with yellow or red tags where deficiencies or impairments exist, kept five years

What does 34.719 require?

After any service, every section of a service tag is completed to show all the services performed and the tag is attached to the riser of each system; if the system has shortcomings or impairments the service person adds the appropriate yellow or red tag as well under the subchapter's procedures. A new service tag goes on each time service is performed; tags stay on the system for five years and may then be removed only by an authorised employee of a registered firm (regulators may remove excess tags at any time). Tags are white, 5-1/4 by 2-5/8 inches, may be printed for several years, and carry the do-not-remove inscription, the firm's name, address, telephone number and certificate number, the applicable RME's name and licence number, the service person's signature, the punched date and type of work, the owner's or occupant's name and address, the building or system identifier, the services performed, and the punched dates on which any yellow or red tag conditions were corrected.
