Once an engineered (non-pre-engineered) fixed system guarding special hazards is finished, the owner or representative receives a set of shop drawings and hydraulic calculations showing the piping, calculations and alarm configuration, and the firm keeps its own set for the life of the system. Later alterations or additions, and additions protecting previously unprotected hazards, are legibly noted on updated plans given to the owner and kept by the firm for the system's life. Every shop drawing bears the signature, licence number and installation date of a Type PL licensee and the firm's certificate number; a rubber stamp of the prescribed size may supply the information, but a stamped signature is not allowed.
