Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G) 34.517-b: Fixed extinguisher systems planned, installed and serviced to manual or standard, with the certifying licensee present at the final test and an installation label and service tag applied

What does 34.517-b require?

Fixed systems are planned, installed and serviced to the maker's installation manual and specifications or to the adopted standards, unless the work follows a standard the local political subdivision has adopted. On completing a pre-engineered system a licensee authorised to certify such systems places an installation label certifying compliance; on completing any other fixed system a Type A or PL licensee places the label certifying compliance with the manuals, with plans by a Type PL licensee or professional engineer, or with the adopted standards. The licensee whose signature is on the label must attend the final test before certification, and a service tag certifying the licensee's work is attached to the system when service is complete.
