An apprentice keeps proof of the permit at hand while working and replaces a lost permit with a duplicate after the employer's written notice; the permit holder or the firm reports a change of employer, home address or mailing address to the State Fire Marshal's Office, with the fee, inside 14 days. Permits are not transferable. An apprentice may assist in all the services of the supervising licensee only under that licensee's direct supervision, and the licensee signs every document that requires a licensee's signature.
