A child safe entity implements and complies with the child safe standard in s 9(g): staff and volunteers of the entity are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children safe through ongoing education and training. The QFCC Guidelines (s 108), to which the entity must have regard (s 11(3)), set the key action areas: training and support to implement the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy; training to recognise indicators of harm including grooming; training to respond effectively and support colleagues who disclose harm; training on building culturally safe environments; and access to learning on truth-telling about Australia's history.
