A child safe entity implements and complies with the child safe standard in s 9(d): equity is upheld and diverse needs are respected in policy and practice. The QFCC Guidelines (s 108), to which the entity must have regard (s 11(3)), set the key action areas: understanding each child's circumstances and providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support; staff trained for this; accessible, culturally safe information, support and complaints processes; particular attention to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse, refugee and asylum-seeking children, children unable to live at home and LGBTIQ+ children; and policies that embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems about child safety.
