A child safe entity implements and complies with the child safe standard in s 9(c): families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing. The QFCC Guidelines (s 108), to which the entity must have regard (s 11(3)), set the key action areas: families participate in decisions affecting their child; the entity communicates openly about its approach to child safety, co-designing what safety means in each cultural context; families have access to information, resources and tools; families and communities have a say in designing and reviewing policies; and families, carers and community are informed about and involved in operations and governance.
