A child safe entity has regard to the guidelines the QFCC makes and publishes under s 108 when implementing and complying with the standards and universal principle (s 11(3)). The current guidelines are the QFCC Guidelines for implementing the Child Safe Standards in Queensland (September 2025), used with the QFCC self-assessment tool. An entity that took on the chapter 2 obligations by ministerial declaration (s 12) is bound in the same way. For an entity that becomes a child safe entity, the risk management strategy provisions of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 chapter 7 part 3 cease to apply (s 111).
