A child safe entity implements and complies with the child safe standard in s 9(e): people working with children are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice. The QFCC Guidelines (s 108), to which the entity must have regard (s 11(3)), set the key action areas: recruitment (advertising, referee checks, pre-employment screening) that makes child safety a prerequisite; current working with children checks and background checks for relevant staff and volunteers, continuously monitored; induction on child safety, record keeping, information sharing and reporting duties; induction including cultural safety and trauma-informed care; and ongoing supervision and people management focused on child safety, wellbeing and cultural safety.
