NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 4: food safety schemes, general provisions: licensing, food safety programs, inspections and audits (sections 31 to 49) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 32: Do not carry on a dairy, meat, plant products, seafood, vulnerable persons or egg business without a current Food Authority licence covering it

What does 32 require?

Any person running a business that falls inside one of the six NSW food safety schemes must hold a licence that authorises that particular business. The scheme definitions decide coverage, for example dairy primary production and transport, abattoirs, meat retail premises and poultry farms with 100 or more birds, growers of berries, leafy vegetables or melons on 2 hectares or more, seafood processing, storage and wholesaling, hospital and aged care food services, and egg businesses handling more than 240 eggs a week.
