Whatever the procurement route, the design team should engage the Electrical Safety Group from the start of design, before any fundamental infrastructure decisions, with regular progress meetings convened by the Group's chair. Under the CDM Regulations organisations should engage only designers and installers with the skills, knowledge and experience for their role, and the design should identify areas needing special treatment, such as Medical Locations Group 0, 1 and 2.
