In Group 2 locations all final circuits other than Medical IT should have RCDs of not more than 30 mA, as should Group 1 final circuits up to 63 A; RCDs in Group 1 and 2 locations must be of type A or type B (type AC not permitted). Group 1 socket-outlets should be fed from two different circuits, one backed by the secondary supply, preferably interleaved TN systems. UPS-backed circuits are TN unless through an isolating transformer, and their disconnection times should be checked on both mains and battery; UPS arrangements such as N+1 should be agreed with the Group.
