NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 8.4.3-8.4.5: 8.4.3 to 8.4.5 Test initiation, cold starts and time delay settings

A test may be started by the ATS test switch or by opening a normal-side breaker, which is optional; load tests include complete cold starts; and time delays are set to at least 1 second on start (0.5 second for gas turbines), no minimum on transfer, at least 5 minutes on retransfer to normal and at least 5 minutes cooldown before shutdown.
