Chapter 8: Routine maintenance and operational testing – NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 8.3.6: 8.3.6 Starting and control battery maintenance

Level 1 starting and control batteries are inspected weekly and Level 2 monthly, kept fully to the maker's recommendations including electrolyte level and voltage. Batteries with access to the electrolyte are tested monthly with specific gravity recorded, or by an alternative method; batteries without electrolyte access are tested monthly by conductance, ohmic, carbon pile load or cranking voltage drop testing. Defective batteries are replaced as soon as found.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 3 controls across 3 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 8.4.1-8.4.2 8.4.1 and 8.4.2 Monthly inspection and inspection content
  • 17.93-17.95 Weekly visual inspection and three-monthly functional tests of primary and secondary supplies

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
