Chapter 6: Transfer switch equipment – NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 6.2.14-6.2.16: 6.2.14 to 6.2.16 Motor load transfer, neutral isolation and nonautomatic switches

Provisions limit inrush from transferring motor loads where it could damage equipment or trip devices; neutral continuity, transfer and isolation are provided where the sources are separately grounded for ground-fault sensing; and nonautomatic switches are mechanically held, operated manually or by remote electrical control, interlocked against paralleling, and show their position.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 4 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 2.7.10 2.7.10 Changeover switching in the generator neutral (Australia and New Zealand rules)
  • 2.7.2 2.7.2 Operation of changeover devices: break before make, active and neutral switching, no earth switching
  • 2.7.4 2.7.4 Changeover device with intermediate off position used as a main switch

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
