NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System CA-4: Produce a compliant energy estimate with margin, off-axis scenarios and risk assessment

What does CA-4 require?

Handbook chapters 4 and 5: the estimate simulates the space as it will operate, using a dynamic hourly package validated to ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 140 for HVAC (spreadsheets only for small loads, disclosed and justified), a recognised local reference weather year, realistic occupancy, part-load plant curves and all in-scope energy (exports cannot improve it; unmeterable energy stays in). The Estimator applies and justifies a project-specific modelling margin, runs at least a base case and an off-axis model of at least four scenarios, analyses changing emissions factors with the NABERS prediction tool, describes the metering meter by meter, lists risks with mitigation, includes the prescribed disclaimer and completes the Table 5.7 checklist, then emails the report to NABERS.
