NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System AGR-COP-2: Keep assessor independence visible: disclose conflicts and take no outcome-based fees

What does AGR-COP-2 require?

Code of Practice: the assessor discloses to the National Administrator any real or perceived conflict of interest when applying for an accredited rating (for example employment by the owner, building manager, energy consultant or their competitor); non-disclosure leads to revocation. The assessor accepts fees only from the customer or its agent and is paid for the certificate regardless of the result, since any bonus or commission linked to the stars achieved is strictly prohibited. The assessor acts honestly and fairly, never misleads any party, keeps information confidential except as the scheme requires, and acts only on their own behalf.
