EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste Management 262.208: § 262.208 Removing containers of unwanted material from the laboratory

The entity must either remove all containers of unwanted material from each laboratory at a regular interval of no more than 12 months, or remove each container within 12 months of its accumulation start date, stating which option in Part I of the Laboratory Management Plan and the schedule in Part II. If a laboratory exceeds 55 gallons of unwanted material (including reactive acutely hazardous material) before the scheduled removal, every container must be marked with the date 55 gallons was exceeded and removed within 10 calendar days or at the next scheduled removal, whichever is first; the same applies when more than 1 quart of liquid or 1 kg of solid reactive acutely hazardous unwanted material accumulates.
