The PCBU assesses each lead process to decide whether it includes lead risk work, considering past biological monitoring, airborne lead levels, the form of lead, tasks and processes, duration and frequency of exposure, routes of exposure and incidents or illnesses, without taking account of personal protective equipment; where it cannot decide, the process is treated as lead risk work until it determines otherwise.
