Part 7.2: Lead – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r396-398: rr 396 to 398 Confine lead contamination, clean safely, and prohibit eating, drinking and smoking in lead areas

The PCBU ensures so far as reasonably practicable that lead contamination is confined to the lead process area and that the area is kept clean using methods that do not create a risk to people nearby or spread contamination (for example not dry sweeping), takes all reasonable steps to ensure no one eats, drinks, chews gum, smokes or carries smoking materials in a lead process area, and provides an eating and drinking area that cannot, so far as reasonably practicable, be contaminated by lead.
