Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Risks of Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace 1.2c: 1.2 Exercise officer due diligence and make worker and visitor duties known

Officers must exercise due diligence, including taking reasonable steps to make sure the business has and uses appropriate resources and processes to eliminate or minimise hazardous chemical risks (WHS Act s 27). Workers must take reasonable care for their own safety and not adversely affect others, follow reasonable instructions, cooperate with notified policies and use or wear PPE provided as instructed (s 28); other persons such as visitors must take reasonable care and follow reasonable instructions (s 29).
