Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Risks of Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace 1.2b: 1.2 Classify, label and supply hazardous chemicals as designer, manufacturer, importer or supplier

Designers, manufacturers, importers and suppliers of substances must ensure so far as reasonably practicable that the substance is without risks to health and safety, including by testing and analysis and by providing specific information (WHS Act Part 2 Division 3). Manufacturers and importers must correctly classify hazardous chemicals, and the Regulations also place duties on them and on suppliers concerning preparation of safety data sheets, disclosure of ingredients, packing, labelling and supply.
