Every employee must be full-time, part-time or casual. When engaging an employee the employer must tell them the terms of engagement, including whether they are full-time, part-time or casual. A full-time or casual employee may become part-time only with their written consent; moving to part-time does not affect continuity of leave; a full-time employee may ask to go part-time and, if granted, return to full-time at a future date agreed in writing.
