The employer must classify each employee under Schedule A (Retail Employee Levels 1 to 8, with the clerical streams and indicative duties and job titles) based on the skill level the employer determines the employee must exercise to carry out the principal functions of the job, and must notify employees in writing of their classification and any change to it. Junior employees at levels 1 to 3 are paid the percentage of the adult rate for their age in Table 5 of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026).
