When the employer requires employees to start or finish on the job site: for a site up to 50 kilometres from the registered office or depot, the daily amount set by clause 18.6(d)(i) of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026) is paid, in place of the 18.6(b)(i) vehicle allowance; for a site more than 50 kilometres away, that daily amount plus travelling time at the ordinary rate for each trip beyond 50 kilometres to start or after finishing (minimum a quarter hour), plus incidental costs genuinely incurred, excluding private vehicle costs where the vehicle allowance is paid; where the employer offers free transport from home or the depot, the lower daily amount in clause 18.6(d)(iii) instead of the first amount. For this purpose no employer may keep two or more registered offices or depots within a 50-kilometre radius. Apprentices receive the full fares allowance.
