Wages, including overtime, are paid weekly, based either on the actual ordinary hours worked that week or on the average weekly ordinary hours. Fortnightly pay is allowed by agreement with the majority of employees or with an individual employee. The pay period ends at the usual finishing time at most 2 clear ordinary working days ahead of pay day. Where a public holiday falls one day after the usual pay day, wages are paid that week 2 days before the holiday. An employee taking an RDO on pay day must receive pay by the next working day at the latest; if the employer can arrange it, payment may be made on the working day before.
