Wages must be paid in cash, by cheque, or by EFT to the employee's account with a bank or other recognised financial institution. If an employee paid by cheque requires it, the employer must provide a way to cash it during ordinary hours. Where wages are paid in cash or cheque, they must be paid during ordinary working hours, and an employee whose day off falls on pay day is to be paid by the following working day, or on the working day before if the employer can arrange that.
