An employee working on a construction over 15 metres high that is a chimney stack, spire, silo, cooling tower, radio or television tower or mast, lift shaft, service shaft, or an air shaft that is not above ground within a multistorey building, is paid the hourly towers allowance in clause 18.4(b) of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026) for all work above 15 metres, with a further equal amount for each additional 15 metres. A similar structure, or a building outside the multistorey definition, exceeding 15 metres may be brought under this clause or the multistorey clause by agreement with an individual or the majority, or failing agreement by the Fair Work Commission.
