All employees on site engaged in constructing a building that will have 5 or more storey levels when complete (counting basements and mezzanines, not half floors) are paid the hourly multistorey allowance in the clause 18.4(a)(iii) table of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026), by floor band. Each higher band starts to apply to all employees once any of the walls, boxing, reinforcing steel or structural steel rises above the first floor level of that band, and the rate reached at the highest point continues until the building is complete. Employees on a service core higher than 15 metres over the main structure's highest point are paid the main structure's rate calculated from its highest point to the service core's highest point in any one day; up to 15 metres above, the ordinary band applies, and service core height above 15 metres is ignored for the main structure's rate.
