Where Part 6.2 requires registration of a plant design, the designer must record the method used to settle on the risk control measures and the measures that resulted, and must keep that record available for the Authority to inspect for 7 years after the date the design is registered (r 83). For all plant, the designer must record every published technical standard, or part of one, used in the design or, where no published standards were used, the engineering principles relied on, and must keep that record open to inspection by the design verifier under r 509 or the Authority for 7 years after the later of the date the design or design information went to the manufacturer under r 81 and the date any revised information went under r 82 (r 84). Each breach carries up to 60 penalty units (natural person) or 300 (body corporate). A designer who also registers the design must obtain a design verification statement under r 509.
