A prescribed mine's operator must ensure a detailed mine plan is kept at the mine that clearly shows: the workings, including disused ones; the ventilation system and all fans; switchboards, transformers and other fixed electrical distribution plant; telephones and other fixed radio and telecommunications plant; water dams and tailings dams; surrounding natural features; storage locations for explosives or hydrocarbons; and emergency exits. The plan must be revised regularly so it always shows accurately which workings are in use and which are disused, and under r 438 it must be kept ready for an inspector to examine on request.
