An underground mine's operator must ensure that every person going underground is given a self-contained self-rescuer as far as reasonably practicable or, where that is not reasonably practicable, a filter self-rescuer, and is trained in operating and using the self-rescuer supplied. This does not apply to people, including any guide, taking part in an organised tourist mine tour.
