A prescribed mine's operator must develop a safety role for its employees, including the specific procedures they must follow to help the operator: identify mining hazards under r 404; implement, review and test controls under rr 405, 406 and 423; establish and implement the safety management system; and carry out and document a safety assessment. The operator must review the role whenever circumstances change, including a mine modification, in a way that would need extra or different knowledge or skills from employees.
