Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 r394-395: rr 394 to 395 Provide safety information to the local community

The operator of an MHF must give the local community and the municipal councils for its area information about the facility's safety, and must send it in written form to each public or community library that serves that community. The information must include a summary of the safety case and a copy of the licence with its terms and conditions, and, unless already in the summary: the facility's name and location; a contact person's name, position and phone number; a general description of operations including the Schedule 14 materials; a general description of the possible major incidents and the major incident hazards behind them; the magnitude of possible incidents and severity of health and safety consequences; how the community will be told of a major incident; and what community members should do under the emergency plan. It must be understandable to someone unfamiliar with the facility and be reviewed, and revised if needed, whenever the facility is modified.
