Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 r385: r 385 Include the required content and signed statement in the safety case

A safety case must contain the Schedule 17 information and must show that the safety management system is a comprehensive and integrated system of controls for major incident hazards and incidents, and that the controls adopted under r 371 or reviewed under r 379 are adequate. The operator must include a signed statement certifying that: the Schedule 17 information in clauses 3, 4 and 7.1 is accurate; through the safety assessment it understands in detail all aspects of major incident risk; its controls eliminate major incident risk or minimise it as far as reasonably practicable and would limit an incident's magnitude and on and off-site consequences as far as reasonably practicable; and people implementing the SMS have the knowledge and skills for their tasks. For a body corporate the chief executive signs, and if the chief executive lives outside Victoria the most senior officer resident in Victoria also signs.
