Part 4.1: Hazardous substances – Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017

Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 r169: r 169 Provide health monitoring for Schedule 9 substances

The employer must make sure health monitoring is done for an employee exposed to a substance in column 2 of Schedule 9 Table 1 or 2, or determined by the Authority to need it, where under the actual conditions of work that exposure is reasonably likely to harm the employee's health. The monitoring must be supervised by a registered medical practitioner, who prepares a report and gives the employer a copy. Where relevant, the report must note any adverse health effects the doctor thinks may be due to the substance, any recommendation that the employee be kept away from the substance for a stated period, and the doctor's interpretation of the results including whether the employee should keep working with it. The duty supports section 22 of the Act.
