Labelling under another recognised system may replace r 149 for a manufacturer or importing supplier, but only on its conditions: (a) labelling under equivalent legislation, including prominent signal words where that legislation requires them; (b) for agricultural or veterinary chemicals, labelling under the APVMA Agricultural and Veterinary Labelling Codes with the label in English, legible, firmly secured and carrying any hazard and precautionary statements consistent with the correct classification; (c) for therapeutic goods, labelling that follows a current section 10 order made under the Commonwealth Therapeutic Goods Act 1989; (d) for a poison or controlled substance, Poisons Standard labelling where the original label stays on and workplace use is foreseeably limited to household quantities, household-type use and incidental to the work; or (e) veterinary chemical products listed in the Poisons Standard Schedule 4 (packaged for direct therapeutic administration to an animal) or Schedule 8. Duplicate statements need not be repeated, and other languages may be added.
