An employer has to have the current SDS for a hazardous substance in hand no later than the first time that substance is supplied to its workplace. The duty applies to supplied substances only; it does not extend to the dusts and fumes generated at the workplace listed in r 154(1)(b). Retailers remain bound by it even where they are exempt from the register. Maximum fine: 100 penalty units (individual) or 500 (body corporate).
