Where a hazard associated with plant or its systems of work has been identified under r 97, the employer must give any person involved in a plant activity the information the employer holds on how to carry out that activity so that the person's health and safety is protected as far as reasonably practicable. A plant activity means commissioning or installing plant, testing it, decommissioning, dismantling or disposing of it, or inspecting or maintaining it. This reaches contractors and service technicians as well as employees.
