Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 r116: r 116 Lifts: lift well falls, falling objects and car movement

For a lift it manages or controls, including one whose maintenance it manages or controls, a self-employed person or employer must: where someone could fall down the lift well, provide secure barriers keeping everyone except people working in the well away from the openings, and secure working platforms or equivalent arrangements to stop those working in the well falling; where someone working in the well could be struck by falling objects, provide a secure barrier to prevent that as far as reasonably practicable; and where movement of the lift car poses a risk to someone working in the well, take steps to eliminate that risk or, if not reasonably practicable, reduce it as far as reasonably practicable.
