UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) Reg.22(3A): Regulation 22(3A) and (5): Charity soft opt-in for supporters

A charity (under the Charities Act 2011, the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 or entered in the Scottish Charity Register) may send direct marketing email or texts without prior consent where the sole purpose is to further its charitable purposes, it obtained the recipient's contact details when the recipient expressed interest in, or offered or gave support to, one or more of its charitable purposes at that time, and the recipient was given a simple means of refusing (free apart from transmission costs) at collection and in every later message.
