Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003
Part 2 and the Second Schedule: unfair practices a supplier must not engage in – Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003

Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 S2-3-8: Need for goods, services, repairs or parts stated honestly, and work claimed actually done

What does S2-3-8 require?

A supplier must not make false or misleading statements about whether a consumer needs any goods or services (paragraph 3), nor claim that a part, service, repair or replacement is required or advisable when it is not, nor claim that a service was supplied, a part installed, a repair made or a replacement provided when that did not happen (paragraph 8). Diagnostic findings, quotations and job completion records should support every recommendation and every charge.
